One of my favorite places to read and write has always been a local library. There are many days when I spend hours wandering between the peaceful and magical bookshelves. During my childhood, I would often leave the library with towering stacks of new novels. My reading addiction has only progressed since then. As my book tour expands into the new year, I have been adding many libraries to the list of places that I will be visiting. Not all of the events have been posted on the page, but I will have them listed as soon as they are finalized. I would love to see each of you there! (This photo is from The Book Booth facebook page. I do not take credit for the lovely photography.) The Book Booth is one of my favorite little libraries in Upstate, New York. It was crafted from an old British phonebooth. If you are ever wandering through the Hudson Valley, I highly recommend visiting this wonderful gem! The Book Booth is a branch of the Clinton Community Library, which will be hosting an author event on January 21st for "Fire & Ice: The Elementals."
P.S: This blog post was named after one of my favorite songs, "Library Magic" by The Head and the Heart. Question of the Day: What is the name of your favorite library? Comment below!

I would like to wish a merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of my lovely readers! I'm so thankful for the overwelming support and love that you have shown toward my novel. I look forward to the coming year and all of the adventures that it will bring.
As many of you already know, Barnes & Noble hosted a book signing for Fire & Ice: The Elementals this past Wednesday! The event was fantastic, and I'm so grateful for those who came to show their support for my novel and the local library! If you missed this wonderful book signing, you can still pick up an autographed copy of Fire & Ice: The Elementals on the shelf at Barnes & Noble in Poughkeepsie, NY! Fire & Ice: The Elementals is a great gift for any reader! My schedule is quite busy for the next few weeks. I will be having a small book signing at the Saugerties Farmers Market this Saturday. In addition, my first Barnes & Noble book signing/author event will be held on December 21st, 3:00-6:00pm. Please be sure to check out the events page for more details! I'm hosting a Goodreads giveaway! The winner will receive an autographed copy of Fire & Ice: The Elementals, book merch, and a letter from the author. This giveaway ends at midnight on December 15th, so you must be sure to enter soon! My weekend was incredibly busy as well. On Saturday, my friend invited me to see Hamilton on Broadway. It was fantastic! However, I was already planning to see Cats the next morning. Therefore, I attended two Broadway shows in a row. I had spent quite a lot of time on the train. Nevertheless, it was an excellent adventure. My friends had to hold me back from running into the NYC Barnes & Noble. Despite the fact that I'm currently writing the sequel to Fire & Ice: The Elementals, much of my time is now devoted to memorizing "The Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock" by T.S Eliot. This assignment that was given to me in a creative writing class; however, I have found it to be rather enjoyable.
~ Erin Forbes I would like to thank all of the wonderful people who came to my book signing yesterday at the Sinterklaas Festival! I was so happy to meet all of you!! It was an amazing first author event! Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway for our beautiful display of Fire & Ice book merch! I picked the winner out of a hat this morning, and I'm very excited to announce that the lucky contestants were Maya S. and Chrissy C. The winners will recieve an email, so be sure to check your inbox! My hallway is currently filled with boxes of Fire & Ice: The Elementals, which recently came in the mail for my upcoming author events. I have to say that I felt bad for the UPS man as he unloaded the 50 pound boxes from his truck and proceeded to haul them toward my front door. I'm sure that he is wondering what I ordered.
During my upcoming book signing at the Sinterklaas Festival, my debut YA novel will be autographed and available for purchase. This is a wonderful holiday event that you don't want to miss! Check out the events page for more information regarding my book signing this Saturday at the Sinterklaas Festival in Rhinebeck, NY. I was recently interviewed by Paperback Radio. If you would like to listen, click the link below! I have finally released the Fire & Ice: The Elementals book trailer on YouTube! This is a wonderful and brief introduction to my debut YA fiction novel! I hope that you all enjoy watching it, and please be sure to give it a thumbs up! Despite the bitter winds of December, I'm looking forward to the holiday season! Nothing compares to cozy socks, warm tea, and reading a good book beside the fire. However, one of my favorite things about the holiday season is shopping for Christmas gifts for my wonderful family and friends! If you are friends with a fellow bookworm, you know very well that their wish list is mainly comprised of novels. I must admit that I'm hoping to receive a few new books as well. Even if you are not personally interested in books, it is always best to seek out the interests of the gift receiver. A book is a treasure that lasts for a lifetime. A brilliant story is worth more than what is fleeting, for the memories stay with the reader for an eternity.
Fire & Ice: The Elementals is the perfect gift for any reader this holiday season! It is a magical and page-turning tale that is appropriate and interesting for readers of every age. Find it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and any of the links on this website. It has just been confirmed that I will be doing an author event/book signing on December 21st at Barnes & Noble in Poughkeepsie, NY. The event will be a 4-H fundraiser for a local library. If you are interested in attending, you can find more information on the "Events" page of my website. I would be very excited to meet each of you! I will be posting the Fire & Ice: The Elementals book trailer on my YouTube channel sometime this weekend. After weeks of working on this video, I think that each of you are really going to enjoy it! In addition, I will soon be posting a Q&A video on our YouTube channel! If you have any questions that are related to Fire & Ice, please submit them below! Question of the Day: What is your favorite quote from Fire & Ice: The Elementals? Writing is pure magic. It gives any person the ability to create a unique world of ink and thoughts. However, writing holds no value without the action of reading. Therefore, the reader is just as important as the writer. The experiences of writing and reading are beautifully distinct. Many people have asked me if I enjoy writing more than I enjoy reading. This is a very difficult question for me to answer, but the truth is that I could never decide. Both actions hold equal and steadfast importance in my life, for a writer can never be good without a love for reading. The best way to become a good writer is to lose yourself in the world of words and ink. Although I have been very busy with marketing Fire & Ice: The Elementals, I always try to find time to read the works of other authors. I'm currently reading "The Wild Girls" by Pat Murphy. A few of my favorite authors include C.S Lewis, Rachel Hartman, and Lois Lowry. NEWS:
This post is an updated version of my writing playlist. I have always found music to be a very useful tool for writing inspiration. It helps me escape the grasp of writer's block and sets the tone for the story.
