I'm very excited to announce that I have finished my final draft of editing and I'm now moving forward with a proofread before publishing!! Editing by yourself can be a challenge, but the truth is that nobody knows the story better than you do. I went through quite a journey in the past few months, and it caused me to realize that perfection is unattainable. Instead, I have decided to strive for happiness with my novel and pride in my accomplishments.
I do not have a finalized release date yet, as I do not want to have the stress of a deadline. However, I will be announcing the release date very soon! Keep posted!

People often ask me if my personal experiences inspire any of the characters or places in my upcoming novel. The answer, honestly, is yes. There are pieces of my life hidden beneath every word. However, very few of the characters in my book are based on people that I know or have met. The identities of those inspiring individuals shall remain a mystery.
I have started a small book club with a few of my friends and the first novel that we are reading "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. The movie was defiantly one of my favorites, but I realized that I had never read the book. Nevertheless, as I was wandering through the shelves of my local bookstore, this novel caught my attention.
I started reading it the moment that I got home and was halfway through the pages within the first day. Even though I can be a very fast reader, I have had to refrain myself from finishing this book in just a few days. The first meeting is in two weeks, and I still want the story to be fresh in my mind. I'm sure that any avid reader can relate. P.S: Sorry for the inactivity on the blog. Now that I'm finally getting near the release of Fire & Ice: The Elementals, I will be posting more often. The question of the day: What is your favorite novel? So far everything is going very well with the final editing of Fire & Ice: The Elementals! I can't wait to share the story with you all! I'm expecting that the book will be released by the end of September; however, I don't know for sure yet.

Thank you so much for keeping up with my blog and Pinterest boards for Fire & Ice! I will keep you guys up to date as I go through more of the publishing process and eventually let you know the official release date. Hi, everyone! If you have visited my blog before I would like to thank you for checking back! However, if you are a much welcome newcomer who is wondering what Fire & Ice is about, I suggest looking back at my first post for more of a proper welcome. If any of you are writers yourselves, you will know firsthand that any writer does their best work when they are in their "writing zone." For me, this consists of sitting on my bed with the sunlight streaming through my windows and a hot mug of Harney & Sons tea in my hand. Occasionally I will have Penelope or Nellie (my cat companions) at my side while they harass me for attention by stepping across my laptop keyboard. However, one thing that gets me into the perfect writing zone is music. Music fuels a writer's imagination like nothing else, and I have a few Spotify playlists created specifically for writing. Here are some of the songs I have been listening to which inspire me while writing Fire & Ice lately: Go Do - Jonśi Wild Things - Alessia Cara Youth - Daughter Crystals - Of Monsters and Men King and Lionheart - Of Monsters and Men Why Not - Jonśi Play with Fire - Vance Joy Dead Sea - The Lumineers Ophelia - The Lumineers Lost Boy - Ruth B Yellow Light - Of Monsters and Men Atlas Hands - Benjamin Francis Leftwich Down in the Valley - The Head and the Heart Blood - The Middle East Angela - The Lumineers Library Magic - The Head and the Heart Only Love - Ben Howard Welcome to the official website for the up and coming book series known as Fire & Ice! Whether you found this website from my Pinterest boards or from knowing me personally, I would like to thank you for checking it out!
I began writing Fire & Ice at the age of thirteen when a brilliant story came to mind, and I have been working on it ever since. Three years later, the first book is coming along very nicely, and it will be published sometime in 2016. Since this is my very first post, I suppose I will give you a bit of an introduction to the first book without providing any terrible spoilers. Fire & Ice is the story of twin sisters known as Alice and Emery Hanley. They discovered at the age of thirteen that they were a part of a secret and magical society of people known as "The Gifted" in which each person possesses a unique and one of a kind power. In Fire & Ice: Book one - The Elementals, you will journey to the enchanted realm of Aisling where Alice and Emery are sent away to boarding school. Not long after they arrive, an unexpected accident occurs along with the mysterious disappearance of one of their fellow students. The two sisters soon discover an ancient prophecy surrounding them and two other students at the Academy for Gifted Youth and realize that the fate of Aisling is now in their hands. I'm so excited to share my story with all of you! This first book is inspiring to readers of all ages and teaches us all that being unique is something we should all treasure. Thank you so much for checking out the website and be sure to check back soon for more! © Fire & Ice: The Elementals 2016 |
